Why choose a medical practitioner?
Because acupuncture is only one part of total patient care. Knowing when to use acupuncture, when to use conventional, (Western) medicine and when to use a combination of both, is something only a medical practitioner can decide, and offer. Read on



What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture originated in China between two and a half and five thousand years ago. It has a recorded history of over 2000 years, but prior to this its development is unknown.

(There is even a theory that suggests that it may have resulted from observations of warriors who had been wounded by arrows in warfare, where pre-injury ailments had vanished)

A Short History.
References to acupuncture-like concepts exist in the ancient Egyptian Ebers papyrus  (1550 BC) and in ancient documents of India and Japan. 
The "Shuo Wen Jie Zi" a Chinese book written  during the Han Dynasty (206 B.C-220 AD), makes mention of  pien (or, bian, according to another translation) meaning  "using stone to treat diseases". Read On

LASER REVIEW: I have used low level laser in my acupuncture practice since 1980. Two models are used, both manufactured by Acupak Pty Ltd of Melbourne . One model is the LDAV5, which is a desktop model, with a visible 630mM (orange) beam of 5mW power output. Read On


Types of Acupuncture:
Acupuncture  needles are superfine sharp stainless steel needles.
They have either a wire wound grip-section or solid grip,  made from metal or plastic.. On Occasion silver or gold  needles are used. Read On
